It seems there is so much mystery and confusion behind Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Protocols (BIP). As a result, parents, teachers, and IEP teams often find themselves overwhelmed, confused, and sometimes in conflict when trying to decide how to best assess behavioral concerns and identify how to best respond to behavior concerns. This presentation will break down both the FBA and BIP process in everyday, easy to understand terms. Specifically, the presentation will discuss the purpose of an FBA, how it is conducted, and what information is obtained. The presentation will then cover how the FBA guides the development of the BIP, what a BIP might look like, and what supports might be included in a BIP.
